Pallet Types

Standard UK pallets

Typically measures 1200 (L) x 1000mm (W). made up of wooden boards or blocks which provides a sturdy platform for transportation of goods.

Euro Pallets

800mm x 1200mm consist of top deck, bottom deck and multiple blocks or stringers that provide support. The design allows easy lifting access for forklifts and pallet jacks to move them.

Heat Treated Pallets

Heat treatment involves treating the wood to a specific temperature for a set period to kill any bugs or pathogens present.

Common grades

Grade A

Excellent condition, they have minimal or no damage made from higher quality wood. Typically holds a weight of around 1000kg

Grade B

Good condition, may have minor damage or wear. They are structurally sound and suitable for various transportation of goods. Holds a weight up to 750kg

Grade C

Noticeable damage and wear, but are still usable for certain purposes. They may have significant flaws. Grade C pallets are commonly used for non-food applications, such as storage or shipping of no sensitive goods. Can carry between 200KG-500KG.

Perimeter-based pallets – Pallets with a flush base can help save space and make them easier to store. They are most suited for storage in racking, where the bases will fit snugly against each other without taking up any extra space.
Three-legger pallets – The pallet’s design is simple, with only three legs and no extra boards at the bottom, but it provides enough support to carry a lot of weight.
Conversion-based pallets – These UK pallets are not true-perimeter-based pallets, but they can be used to transport heavy objects such as bricks or cement. They have extra boards attached to the bottom of them that provide stability when carrying a load on top and make it easier to transport goods over long distances.
Winger pallets – The pallets’ boards are overhanging the blocks to wrap them tightly with shrink-wrap to ensure goods stay safe.
